A little over a year ago Dolphin went open source with preliminary support for Wii games. Along with the new builds there was also a new OpenGL video plugin released.

Since then compatibility and performance has been improved, new features have been added, there is a Wiimote plugin that allows you to use a real Wiimote or map to the keyboard/gamepad. Some/Most Wii games work with decent performance.

A lot of work has recently went into DSP/Audio emulation, games such as Zelda: Windwaker, Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC), Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Luigi's Mansion now have sound. However audio in these games aren't perfect yet, there is still some volume and panning issues that have yet to be fixed.

Dolphin has also recently been featured on a lot of different blogs such as Destructoid, Kotaku and more!

If you want to check out and keep an eye on development you can visit their forum and the projects Googlecode page.

I compiles and host unofficial builds on my forum and Skydrive account in case anyone is interested. smile.gif
